China has implemented a national standard governing the durability performance of electric vehicle power batteries, establishing requirements for battery available energy state display in vehicles and setting minimum performance degradation thresholds.[1] The standard mandates that on-vehicle displays of available battery energy state must not deviate from actual measurements by more than 5%, while the virtual mileage calculation must align with real-world values within a relative error margin of 3%.[1]
For light-duty passenger vehicles, the standard specifies that battery available energy state should retain at least 82% after five years or 100,000 kilometers of use.[1] After eight years or 160,000 kilometers, batteries must maintain no less than 75%, and by ten years or 200,000 kilometers, they should preserve at least 70%.[1] Currently released as a recommended national standard, the specification is expected to be widely adopted across the industry in the future, driving advances in battery technology innovation and quality improvements throughout the sector.[1]
