The Guangxi Cultural and Arts Center Children's National Music Ensemble recently performed the traditional Chinese instrumental drama "Song Immortal Legend" at Xixiang Assembly Hall in Baoan District, Shenzhen[1]. The production reimagines the legendary story of Liu Sanjie, a celebrated folk heroine, through ethnic musical instruments while incorporating Zhuang ethnic customs and traditions[1]. Young musicians from various ethnic backgrounds performed together on stage, using their collaborative performance to convey messages of national unity[1].
The ensemble, established in 2021, showcased a diverse range of traditional Chinese instruments including guzheng, erhu, suona, ruan, and pipa during the production[1]. The performance featured young soloists such as Su Pengxiaoxiao, Pan Liucheng, and Li Jiale[1]. This cultural presentation was organized as a public welfare event with free admission available to Shenzhen residents through advance registration[1].
The performance exemplified Baoan District's efforts to leverage Guangdong-Guangxi cooperation mechanisms to introduce distinctive cultural and artistic resources, promoting two-way cultural exchange between the two regions[1].
