Ohio Republican Senator Bernie Moreno publicly called for U.S. Representative Max Miller to resign from Congress on Sunday, citing domestic violence and child abuse allegations.[1] Moreno stated on X platform that "If there are any basic standards of character required to hold elected office, Max Miller fails them. He should not serve in the House of Representatives."[1]
The allegations against Miller include throwing hot water at his ex-wife Emily Moreno, pointing a gun at her head, and causing their two-year-old daughter to suffer a broken collarbone.[1] Emily Moreno, a conservative policy advisor who married Miller in 2022, has been engaged in custody disputes involving their children since 2024.[1] Miller also faces accusations from former White House Press Secretary Stephanie Grisham.[1]
In response, Miller denied all charges in a livestream, stating that "no court, no agency has ever substantiated any allegation of abuse against me. No criminal charge has ever been filed against me."[1] He vowed to continue his reelection campaign.
The deadline for changing ballot candidates falls on Wednesday.[1]
