Avatr Vice President Yong Jun stated that the company does not view its cooperation model with Huawei as a necessary condition for business operations [1]. While Avatr currently leverages Huawei's leading autonomous driving technology to ensure robust perception capabilities, Yong emphasized that this partnership is based on technological superiority rather than permanent lock-in [1]. "The optimal solution of today does not mean such cooperation will remain bound forever," Yong declared [1].
Avatr hopes Huawei will function as a public technology platform, upon which the automaker can build differentiated products [1]. In August 2024, Avatr Technology purchased a 10 percent stake in Yinwang held by Huawei for 11.5 billion yuan, making Avatr the second-largest shareholder in the company [1]. Additionally, Changan Automobile Chairman Zhu Huarong revealed in December 2024 that Yinwang has reserved a 20 percent stake for Changan [1].
