Two owners of Mercedes-AMG vehicles have filed a class action lawsuit alleging that a metal logo on the driver's seat poses a burn hazard in high temperatures.[1] Gabriel Lahijani and Karendeep "Karina" Bath both claim they sustained second-degree burns from the AMG emblem while entering their 2026 Mercedes-AMG E-Class vehicles in light clothing.[1]
Lahijani suffered burns on May 31, 2026, after wearing a sleeveless shirt, with marks spelling out the "AMG inscription" left on his skin.[1] Bath experienced a similar injury, with burn marks forming the shape of the AMG logo.[1] The plaintiffs are seeking compensation for medical expenses and emotional distress, as well as requesting that Mercedes provide free removal of the emblems for other affected vehicle owners.[1] The lawsuit was filed in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of California.[1]
