A construction building in the inner-city Sydney suburb of Wattle Street, Ultimo, underwent a sudden structural failure on Monday morning, leaving two men with serious injuries.[1] The men, aged in their 30s and 60s respectively, were transported to hospital for treatment following the incident.[1]
Fire and Rescue NSW's acting superintendent Peter Murray described the scene, stating that "a portion of that building has collapsed, and some of the debris has come down and fallen on some cars parked within the service station area."[1] The collapse, which occurred around 11 a.m., resulted in damage to vehicles positioned near a Shell service station adjacent to the site.[1] In addition to the two seriously injured individuals, five other people were assessed at the scene but required no further medical intervention.[1]
