Huang Hongja, a sophomore at Futian Middle School in Shenzhen, has secured first prize in the high school category at the inaugural National Youth Artificial Intelligence Competition after competing against approximately 46,000 participants.1 The finals of the competition have concluded, with Huang advancing through initial qualifying rounds, semifinals, and finals over a period of nearly three months.1 The competition was organized by the China Welfare Institute and the China Women's Development Foundation, and has been included in the Ministry of Education's list of national-level competitive activities for the 2025–2028 academic year.1
The competition attracted teams from all 31 provinces and regions across China, as well as the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps and the Hong Kong and Macau regions.1 Over 100 competitors received first prize at the finals level.1 The event featured five competition tracks: artificial intelligence foundational knowledge competition, AI tool application competition, AI-driven science competition, embodied intelligence competition, and large language model application competition.1 Huang's teachers, Chen Hua and Xie Lingyun, provided guidance throughout the preparation process.1
Futian Middle School's affiliated group demonstrated strong performance in the competition, accumulating more than 80 award recipients across first, second, and third prizes combined during the initial and semifinal stages.1
