BYD's automotive industrial park in the zone cumulatively rolled off more than 160,000 vehicles, with year-on-year growth exceeding 130%, while maintaining daily production at 2,000 units [1]. The park also began mass production of BYD's second-generation blade battery, which can charge from 10% to 70% capacity in five minutes [1].
Infrastructure and public services expanded to support the region's transformation into a livable and workable city. Shenzhen Vocational and Technical University's Shenzhen-Shanwei campus welcomed its first cohort of students in autumn 2026, with planned enrollment of 15,000 students [1]. Peking University Shenzhen Hospital's Shenzhen-Shanwei branch commenced operations at the end of June [1]. Housing security improved through 15 planned affordable housing projects comprising 22,800 units in total, with approximately 6,800 households and 20,000 residents already accommodated [1]. Additionally, the Shenzhen-Shanwei high-speed railway is expected to be completed in 2027, providing 25-minute direct access to Shenzhen's Xili Station [1].
