Students from the School of Sino-German Intelligent Manufacturing at Shenzhen Technology University achieved outstanding results in the 2026 China University Student Mechanical Engineering Innovation and Creativity Competition, earning two national first-place awards and two third-place awards alongside multiple regional honors for a total of 14 awards.1 Ten undergraduate teams from the school participated across various competition categories, demonstrating excellence in mechanical innovation and design.
The competition featured the amusement facility creative design category as a new event for the first time, which attracted participation from 26 provinces and regions across China, 126 universities, more than 5,300 faculty and students, and 936 total entries.1 Shenzhen Tech University secured a national first-place award in this inaugural category with the "Genius Spin" project, which also won the South China regional first prize.1 In another major achievement, the "Perfect Team" project earned a national first-place award in the undergraduate division and a South China regional second-place provincial award.1 In the industrial collaborative robot and digital twin technology innovation application competition, the university won a national first-place award and four provincial awards.1 In the intelligent equipment innovation design competition, all three participating Shenzhen Tech University teams received awards.1
The China University Student Mechanical Engineering Innovation and Creativity Competition is hosted by the Chinese Society of Mechanical Engineers and has been consecutively included in the national analysis report of university student competitions since 2019.1
