A third-grade student from Luohu Future School in Shenzhen has won first prize in a prestigious artificial intelligence competition by collaborating with AI tools to transform a Chinese language textbook essay into a musical composition.1 Ren Yiyang drew inspiration during a classroom lesson and used AI technology to adapt the essay "Autumn Rain" into a complete song, handling lyric creation, music production, and video direction.1 The work earned first place in the WAIC YOUNG AIGC music creation category at the Sixth Yangtze River Delta Youth Artificial Intelligence Olympic Challenge.1
The young creator offered insight into the creative process, reflecting that while AI capabilities are impressive, the real challenge lies in understanding one's own vision.1 "AI is indeed powerful, but the truly difficult part is not getting AI to produce something—it's knowing exactly what you want in the first place," Ren noted.1 The student further emphasized the importance of aesthetic judgment, stating: "Aesthetics means that when many answers are placed before you, you know which one you prefer and why."1
