The Ministry of Natural Resources officially released two artificial intelligence-driven mineral prospecting systems at the 2026 China International Mining Conference on September 11, 2026.1 The "Intelligent Geological Mapping" system converts nearly a century of geological surveying methods, experience, and knowledge accumulated by geoscientists into a computable knowledge base through deep learning techniques.1 Complementing this initiative, the "Intelligent Prospecting" system integrates over one million knowledge graph entries and more than 200 geological data analysis and evaluation algorithms to facilitate the transition from experience-driven to intelligence-driven mineral exploration.1
The "Intelligent Prospecting" system functions as what officials describe as a "super data analysis advisor," capable of delineating favorable exploration zones, identifying drilling targets, generating three-dimensional geological structural models, and producing resource prediction and evaluation conclusions.1
