人民日报16日在第5版刊登约6400字的纪念文章，由中共中央党史和文献研究院署名[1]。文章肯定了江泽民的功绩，同时强调全党要紧密团结在以习近平为核心的党中央周围[1]。文章指出，距离基本实现"社会主义现代化"只有不到10年时间，距离实现全面建成社会主义现代化强国目标只有20多年时间[1]。
The Chinese Communist Party will convene a memorial gathering on November 17 to commemorate what would have been the 100th birthday of former leader Jiang Zemin.[1] Jiang was born on August 17, 1926, and died on November 30, 2022, at the age of 96.[1] President Xi Jinping is scheduled to attend the event and deliver an important address.[1]
In advance of the commemoration, the People's Daily published an extensive memorial article on November 16, occupying the entire fifth page with approximately 6,400 characters.[1] The article, authored by the Communist Party's Central Committee History and Literature Research Institute, highlighted Jiang's contributions while underscoring the need for the entire party to unite closely around Xi Jinping as the core of the party's central leadership.[1] The article noted that less than a decade remains to achieve the basic realization of "socialist modernization," and more than two decades remain to accomplish the goal of fully building a modern socialist country.[1]
