Parts of Zhejiang, Fujian, and Guangdong experienced heavy to torrential rainfall, with some areas recording extreme downpours of 250–426.7 millimeters, particularly in Huzhou and Jiaxing in Zhejiang, Suzhou in Jiangsu, and Guangzhou in Guangdong.[1] Maximum hourly precipitation rates in Suzhou, Huzhou, and Jiaxing reached 100–153 millimeters.[1]
Over the next three days, these southern regions are expected to remain affected by heavy rainfall, with forecasts indicating 100–200 millimeters of precipitation in parts of eastern Zhejiang and neighboring areas between 08:00 on August 15 and 08:00 on August 16.[1] Meanwhile, North China, the central and eastern parts of Inner Mongolia, and the northeast are anticipated to experience widespread rainfall accompanied by localized convective weather events including short-duration intense precipitation and thunderstorms with strong winds.[1]
