US Representative Russell Fry has thrown his support behind Darline Graham in the Republican primary runoff for South Carolina's US Senate seat.[1] In a statement released Friday, Fry argued that Graham should advance to the general election to succeed her late brother, citing her ability to advance the Trump agenda and her understanding of everyday Americans' struggles.[1] Graham will face US Representative Ralph Norman in the runoff scheduled for August 25, 2024.[1]
Graham, 62, has already secured endorsements from several prominent Republicans, including former President Donald Trump and South Carolina Senator Tim Scott.[1] Fry, a two-term congressman aged 41, previously received campaign support from Trump during his first House race in 2022.[1] The Senate seat opened following the unexpected death of incumbent Senator Lindsey Graham last month.[1]
