BNK Banking Corporation has appointed Steve Kinsella as Chief Executive Officer and Judith Newman as Chief Financial Officer on a permanent basis, following their transition from interim roles on April 2, 2024.[1] The appointments are effective immediately, subject to final regulatory approval.[1]
The confirmations mark a stabilization of the bank's executive structure as it pursues a strategic shift toward higher-margin small and medium-sized enterprise lending and structured credit investments.[1] The lender's commercial loan portfolio has surpassed A$210 million, representing 100 percent growth compared to the prior year period.[1] BNK's total loan book stands at A$984 million with total deposits of A$1.027 billion, while the most recent quarter delivered after-tax statutory profit of A$414,000 and a net interest margin of 2.11 percent.[1]
BNK Chair Jon Denovan expressed confidence in the leadership team, stating the board believes "in their continued ability to drive the company's strategy."[1] Kinsella brings substantial banking experience, having served as CFO of institutional banking and markets at Commonwealth Bank of Australia and previously held CFO roles across London and Asia-Pacific operations at ABN Amro.[1]
