This marks Siegfeld's third time portraying a snake charmer in this particular production at the Met.1 According to Novograd, the owner of the company that supplies stage animals, the selection process demands considerable specificity: "Animals must perform just like human actors...in this case, they have to be the right color, the right size, and Zoe has to like them."1 Siegfeld brings substantial experience to the role, having previously performed snake charming acts on the Coney Island stage for multiple seasons, with eight shows daily.1 Mozart originally composed "Così fan tutte" in 1790.1
