In response to his loss, Lindell disputed the legitimacy of the race outcome, questioning the authority of the Associated Press and claiming that hundreds of thousands of votes remained uncounted.[1] "I'm not going to give up this race until the votes are counted," Lindell stated.[1] The primary took place following a final personal campaign appearance by former President Trump on Lindell's behalf the day before the election.[1]
Demuth will face Democratic Senator Amy Klobuchar in the November general election.[1] Lindell settled a defamation lawsuit with Dominion Voting Systems, now known as Liberty Vote, for $130 million the previous year.[1]
