The 11th Beijing-Taiwan Scholars Joint Research Conference took place in Beijing, bringing together 130 experts and scholars from both sides of the Taiwan Strait [1]. Participants engaged in panel discussions examining three key areas: the impact of US-China strategic relations on cross-strait ties, the effects of global economic system restructuring on bilateral trade and economic relations, and political dynamics and public sentiment revealed by Taiwan's recent local elections [1]. Former Deputy Director of China's Taiwan Affairs Office Long Mingbiao stated that the mainland hopes to strengthen economic and trade exchanges and cooperation across the strait in order to advance peaceful development of cross-strait relations [1].
