The seasoning, launched by the American supermarket chain Trader Joe's in 2017, contains poppy seeds, sesame, sea salt, garlic, and onion.[1] Singapore's narcotics agency emphasized that the country maintains "a zero-tolerance policy on controlled drugs,"[1] reflecting the strict regulatory stance that prompted the removal. In South Korea, authorities identified cases where individuals brought the product back as souvenirs and resold it.[1]
