A 63-year-old man has been convicted of harassing Labour MP Stella Creasy aboard a Victoria Line tube train in London.[1] Clifford Wilby, who resides in East London, confronted Creasy on July 15, 2025, blocking her exit from the carriage while engaging in aggressive conversation about knife crime and filming her with his mobile phone.[1]
Westminster Magistrates' Court found Wilby guilty of harassment by threatening, abusive words or behaviour causing alarm, harassment or distress.[1] Creasy, the 49-year-old MP for Walthamstow, described feeling extremely concerned during the incident, stating that Wilby was "very close" to her and she was "very worried" about being trapped in the confined space.[1] Wilby claimed he was recording for his own safety.[1] The two had previously encountered each other during a Zoom meeting in 2024, which was terminated due to Wilby's behaviour.[1]
Magistrate Tan Ikram presided over the case, with sentencing scheduled for September 8, 2025.[1]
