Canadian authorities on Tuesday charged a man with making a bomb threat against the US Consulate in Halifax.[1] Police discovered a vehicle belonging to 54-year-old Ali Assakereh parked near the consulate on Monday morning, containing propane tanks and containers that may have held flammable liquid.[1] The discovery prompted the evacuation of multiple downtown streets, though explosive experts later determined the items posed no public safety risk.[1] Assakereh faces charges related to uttering threats and public mischief.[1]
