Kuniko Limited has completed its initial A$1.5 million expenditure commitment and gained 51% control of the Commonwealth-Silica Hill gold-silver-copper project, achieving this milestone more than 12 months ahead of schedule [1]. The company has now obtained operational control of the project and believes it may host a larger mineralised system than previously understood [1].
The first phase of drilling achieved a 100% success rate, with the most significant intercept returning 347 grams per tonne gold equivalent over 0.5-metre intervals, including 20,603 grams per tonne silver and 27 grams per tonne gold [1]. These results have helped define approximately 5 kilometres of a mineralised corridor [1]. Management Director Maja McGuire stated that securing majority ownership represents "clear confidence in the project and its enormous growth potential" [1].
Kuniko plans to invest an additional A$1.5 million over the following two years to expand its stake to 70% [1]. The second phase of drilling is already underway, with a mineral resource estimate anticipated by the end of 2026 [1]. Historical JORC (2012) inferred mineral resources for the project encompassed approximately 88,800 ounces of gold and 3.3 million ounces of silver [1].
