A single diamond drill hole intercepted multiple visible gold grains at shallow depths, with one intersection containing visible gold at 21.7 metres below surface—just 18 metres from the ground level—and another strike yielding 13 visible gold particles at 61.2 metres depth within a quartz vein [1].
The discovery expands Aureka's understanding of near-surface mineralization potential at the Comstock project, which hosts an estimated 56,500 ounces of gold [1]. Of seven diamond drill holes completed at Comstock during 2025, six have returned significant gold and silver results [1]. Managing Director James Gurry stated: "I am very pleased to see Comstock deliver again, with at least two visible gold occurrences identified within our first production target pit" [1]. Core samples from the latest drilling are expected to return assay results within three to five weeks [1].
