South Korea's Jeju Air has experienced significant growth in passenger transportation on routes between South Korea and China during the first seven months of this year. The uptick in passenger numbers is closely linked to bilateral visa exemption policies. China implemented a trial visa-free entry program for South Korean citizens beginning November 8, 2024, while South Korea launched a temporary visa exemption policy for Chinese group tourists from September 29, 2025, through June 30, 2026 [1]. These measures have translated into increased travel flows in both directions: Chinese visitors to South Korea reached approximately 3.21 million in the first half of the year, up 27.1% from the corresponding period in 2024, while South Korean visitors to China numbered about 1.714 million, growing 16% year-on-year [1]. Jeju Air currently operates 11 routes to China, with passengers aged 20 to 39 forming the largest demographic segment at 37.1% of total travelers, or 158,500 passengers [1].
