Uzbekistan has confirmed its status as the second nation to acquire China's J-10CE fighter jets, following Pakistan's earlier adoption of the aircraft 1. The Central Asian country's presidential office released a video on August 28 featuring at least six J-10CE jets during Independence Day celebrations, with the Defense Ministry releasing additional footage on August 30 1. In the latter release, Uzbek officials described the aircraft as "modern warplanes safeguarding our country's airspace" 1.
While unconfirmed reports have suggested Uzbekistan ordered 24 J-10CE jets, neither Uzbekistan nor China has officially verified the total number 1. Pakistan, the first international operator of the fighter, had received 20 J-10CE aircraft by May of last year 1. During the India-Pakistan conflict in the previous year, Pakistan claimed to have used the J-10CE to shoot down multiple Indian military aircraft 1. Bangladesh has indicated its intention to negotiate with China regarding the procurement of J-10CE fighters and attack helicopters 1.
