Eight teenagers have been charged with murder in connection with a violent incident that occurred at a residential property in Bahrs Scrub, south of Brisbane, on July 26, 2024.[1] The 21-year-old victim, from Redbank Plains, suffered injuries during the altercation and died six days after the party.[1]
Police allege the attack was premeditated, with the group arriving armed with various weapons with the intention of causing harm to people at the address.[1] Four teenagers—two aged 18 and two aged 19—were initially charged with murder on August 6, 2024.[1] Four additional suspects, comprising one 17-year-old and three 18-year-olds, were arrested on the following Sunday and also faced murder charges.[1] Detective Inspector Ian Galpin stated: "The police will allege that this group had a preconceived plan, which included arming themselves with various weapons before attending Bahrs Scrub with the common purpose of inflicting harm on persons at that address."[1]
The investigation involved more than 80 police officers executing 14 search warrants.[1] Authorities have warned that further arrests may follow.[1]
