House Republicans have opened an investigation into a controversial Drug Enforcement Administration strategy that permitted significant quantities of fentanyl to enter the illicit market. House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer sent a letter to Attorney General Todd Blanchett on Monday demanding an inquiry into the practice, which involved DEA agents monitoring but deliberately refraining from seizing major fentanyl shipments to build larger cases.1
