The China Council for the Promotion of International Trade released its July 2026 business certification data, revealing robust growth in preferential certificate of origin issuance across the national system.1 The value of preferential certificates of origin signed and issued reached 10.924 billion U.S. dollars, representing a year-on-year increase of 24.77%, with 2.961 million certificates issued, up 7.17% compared to the same period last year.1 Non-preferential certificates of origin totaled 32.332 billion U.S. dollars in issuance value, growing 7.38% year-on-year.1
The data demonstrates the sustained momentum of China's high-level opening-up policies and the growing capacity of foreign trade enterprises to leverage preferential terms under trade agreements such as RCEP.1 In July, the national promotion system issued a combined 7.364 million certificates of all types.1 Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) certificates of origin reached 873 million U.S. dollars in value, posting a year-on-year gain of 16.81%.1 The number of enterprises utilizing preferential certificates expanded to 3.59 million, increasing 15.77% year-on-year, while 4.70 million enterprises availed themselves of non-preferential certification services.1
