British right-wing commentator Milo Yiannopoulos has been deported to the United Kingdom following his arrest on immigration violations in the United States.13 U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detained Yiannopoulos, and the Department of Homeland Security confirmed his deportation, stating that he is now permanently barred from re-entering the country.3
Yiannopoulos entered the United States legally in May 2019 but remained in the country unlawfully after his visa expired.234 He was arrested on August 27 at Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport.34 According to the Department of Homeland Security, he was classified as an undocumented resident and faced deportation after failing to appear at an immigration hearing.5 A final removal order was issued on July 22.5
The deportation has drawn attention partly due to Yiannopoulos's earlier advocacy for stricter immigration enforcement.4 He had previously stated on social media in 2025 that "we must deport millions of people" and maintained that anyone unable to prove legal residency should be immediately removed from the country.34 Yiannopoulos, 41, gained prominence in the United States as an early supporter of Donald Trump's 2016 presidential campaign and as a contributor to Breitbart News between 2014 and 2016.24 He was invited to speak at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in 2017 but was subsequently disinvited following controversy over remarks that appeared to defend sexual relations with minors.2
