Following the confrontation, Crosby was ejected from practice while Cousins remained on the field to continue the offensive drive.[1] Coach Klint Kubiak downplayed the significance of the clash, stating that "those are two leaders of our team going at it, so that is part of camp."[1] Tight end Michael Mayer echoed a similar sentiment, noting that "we don't want to be throwing punches, but I think on any padded day of camp, there's going to be some tussles."[1]
