On August 6, Shenzhen organized a media tour marking the 100-day countdown to the APEC summit [1]. The delegation visited major cultural venues and enterprises along a public culture service route, including the Shenzhen International Art Museum, Shenzhen Science and Technology Museum, Zhonghui Film and Television, and the Shenzhen Opera and Ballet Theater [1]. The tour highlighted the city's progress in cultural infrastructure development, integration of science and culture, original content creation, and international cultural promotion [1].
The cultural institutions showcased during the tour demonstrate substantial public engagement. Since opening on May 30, the Shenzhen International Art Museum has attracted more than 250,000 visitors [1]. The Shenzhen Science and Technology Museum, which opened over a year ago, has welcomed 5 million visitors and features 950 exhibits [1]. Across the city, Shenzhen has established over 1,800 cultural spaces including libraries, museums, art galleries, and cultural centers [1].
The city has also emerged as a significant force in film and television production. Four of the six Chinese films with box office revenues exceeding one billion yuan this year originated from Shenzhen productions [1]. The original dance drama "Wing Chun" has set three records for Chinese dance performances in Europe—longest commercial run duration, number of performances, and ticket sales [1]. The production performed twice at the Andong Culture and Arts Hall in South Korea from July 31 to August 1 [1].
