Multiple witnesses admitted to questionable conduct during the hearings. Jean-Claude Perrottet, brother of former Premier Dominic Perrottet, received $5,000 monthly but could not recall what work he performed in exchange.[1] Robert Assaf, who earned $135,000 in his role at Catholic Schools NSW, acknowledged undertaking factional work during his employment there.[1] To avoid detection, Assaf and Jeremy Greenwood left their phones and computers in a vehicle during a meeting at a Belfield café.[1]
The inquiry also uncovered breaches of confidentiality. Damien Tudehope admitted to leaking a confidential draft report from a 2023 parliamentary inquiry to Greenwood, an action that violates Section 114 of the ICAC Act and carries a maximum penalty of 12 months imprisonment.[1] Tudehope was subsequently referred to parliament's privileges committee for further action.[1] Intercepted phone calls involving fugitive developer Jean Nassif revealed discussions about channeling $100,000 to support a preselection candidate related to Perrottet's family, with Nassif allegedly requesting assistance in removing David Chandler, the head of a building commission.[1]
