Ohio Republican Senator Jon Husted called on Representative Max Miller to resign from Congress and withdraw from his reelection campaign on Thursday.[1] In a statement posted on X, Husted said that Miller should step aside as a candidate and leave the House "to focus on what is in the best interest of his daughter."[1]
The call for Miller's departure intensifies pressure from both Democratic and Republican colleagues following domestic violence allegations made by his ex-spouse, Emily Moreno, which Miller has firmly denied.[1] Under Ohio state law, Miller must withdraw from the race by Saturday to allow for a replacement candidate to be selected before the Monday 4 p.m. filing deadline.[1] Senator Bernie Moreno previously indicated that Miller is unfit to serve but stopped short of explicitly demanding his resignation.[1]
