The Washington Commanders signed veteran wide receiver Stefon Diggs on Wednesday to strengthen their passing attack around quarterback Jayden Daniels.[1] The 32-year-old Diggs, who will pair with starting receiver Terry McLaurin to form the team's most formidable receiving corps in years, participated in his first practice with the Commanders on Friday.[1]
Diggs arrives after spending the 2024 season with the New England Patriots, where he appeared in 55 percent of offensive snaps and recorded 85 receptions for 1,013 receiving yards.[1] During that season, he converted 51 of his 85 catches into first downs, tying for the tenth-most in the league.[1] This acquisition marks Diggs' fourth team in as many years.[1]
