A 26-year-old Afghan boxer has appeared in court for a second time in connection with the death of a Scottish aid worker in Greece.[1] Sharif Ahamazai faces charges of intentional homicide, robbery, and weapons offenses in the case of Elizabeth Ross, a 38-year-old from Edinburgh who was found dead in an abandoned building in Athens's Kypseli district on July 18.[1]
According to Greek authorities, Ahamazai has admitted to moving the victim's body but denies the murder allegation.[1] Investigators allege that he stole over €10,000 (£8,500) from Ross's bank account and impersonated a terrorist in messages sent to her friends.[1] Ross, who had arrived in Greece on June 26, was last known to have stayed in the Keratsini area of Piraeus until July 10.[1] Ahamazai is married to Alaina Hall, a U.S. citizen.[1]
