The Party Leadership of China's Ministry of Justice has recently convened a special meeting to deploy a deepened anti-organized crime initiative across the judicial administration system.[1][2] The deployment emphasizes full implementation of Xi Jinping's rule of law thought and the overall national security perspective.[1][2]
The Ministry has issued directives to strictly enforce the detention, management, and rehabilitation of criminals involved in organized and gang-related activities in accordance with law.[1][2] Additionally, the judicial system is tasked with conducting legal defense representation work, promoting legal awareness campaigns, and investigating emerging forms of criminal activity including internet-based organized crime and "soft violence" tactics.[1][2] The initiative aims to build and strengthen long-term prevention and governance mechanisms against organized crime to create a safe and stable political and social environment for economic and social development.[2]
The deployment specifically addresses new manifestations, characteristics, trends, and patterns in organized and gang-related criminal behavior.[1][2] The judicial administration system is expected to enhance management of individuals receiving rehabilitation assistance while advancing the establishment of effective, sustainable systems to prevent and address organized crime.[1][2]
