The 2026 Returnee Innovation Development Conference was held in Shenzhen's Longgang District on August 2, bringing together representatives from overseas Chinese and international talent networks [1]. Guided by the Shenzhen Municipal United Front Work Department and the Shenzhen European and American Alumni Association, the conference attracted nearly 100 overseas study abroad society representatives from 18 countries and regions [1].
The conference introduced the Global Overseas Chinese Talent Connection Plan and unveiled the "2026 Global Study Abroad Talent and University Resources White Paper," which surveyed 60 representative universities and 47 key disciplines worldwide [1]. Additionally, 10 young representatives from institutions including Imperial College London, Oxford University, and Nanyang Technological University were appointed as overseas talent recruitment ambassadors [1].
