Following Nandu's report on environmental issues in Shenzhen's APEC districts, four subdistricts have launched immediate remediation efforts to address the problems identified [1]. Guanhu Subdistrict in Longhua District, Baolong Subdistrict in Longgang District, Gongming Subdistrict in Guangming District, and Longtian Subdistrict in Pingshan District have mobilized to tackle deficiencies in landscaping, illegal vehicle parking, unlicensed street vending, and sagging cables [1].
The cleanup operations have produced measurable results across all four locations. Longtian Subdistrict completed landscape restoration and removed sagging cables by August 5 [1]. Baolong Subdistrict deployed 12 personnel and three vehicles to clear fallen branches, trimmed approximately 500 meters of vegetation, and cleared nine instances of illegal street vending and two misplaced advertising boards on August 4 and 5 [1]. Guanhu Subdistrict relocated 45 illegally parked vehicles and coordinated with traffic police to issue fines for 25 additional violations, while also completing cleanup around waste collection points [1]. Gongming Subdistrict reported completing comprehensive district-wide rectification, clearing all scattered flyers, removing illegal vehicles, and dispersing unauthorized street vendors [1].
To prevent recurrence of these issues, the subdistricts have committed to establishing long-term management mechanisms [1]. Gongming Subdistrict has implemented an enforcement measure stipulating that repeated violations at the same location will result in reduced maintenance funding and replacement of the responsible area manager [1].
