On August 4, one hundred junior high students from Futian District completed a results presentation of their life sciences-themed practical activity at Shenzhen University's School of Medicine.[1] Among these participants, fifty students comprised the "Life Exploration Team," having spent four intensive days investigating the mysteries of biological science.[1]
During their expedition, the teenagers visited multiple research and medical institutions on the front lines, including the Shenzhen Academy of Medical Sciences, the Shenzhen Blood Center, the Eighth Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University, BGI Genomics, CBPO Biologics, and the Shenzhen Emergency Medical Center.[1] At the presentation event, students from ten different schools showcased their multidimensional insights into life sciences through their project reports.[1] Liu Xing, a professor at Shenzhen University's School of Medicine, noted that the university's basic medicine program ranks ninth nationally and its biomedical engineering program ranks twelfth nationally.[1]
The presentation format emphasized collaborative learning, with representatives from each school providing two-minute peer evaluations following each group's report.[1] Through this structure, the teenagers evolved from mere presenters into active listeners and critical thinkers, completing a full cycle of growth through mutual assessment and reflection.[1]
