Patriot Resources has completed initial geological surveys on a newly acquired copper license in Zambia, identifying geological features comparable to those found at the Fishtie/Kashime copper deposit in the Central African Copperbelt.[1] The license area, located just 17 kilometers from Fishtie/Kashime, contains siliceous siltstone units with magnetite-siderite-apatite banding that mirrors the mineralization sequence at the nearby deposit, along with a structural shear zone measuring 3 kilometers in length and 700 meters in width.[1]
Early-stage drilling programs at the Tonic and Mumbwa areas have yielded encouraging results, uncovering new copper-silver-zinc-cobalt mineralization.[1] A drill intersection at Tonic returned 17 meters grading 0.41% copper, with a higher-grade 3-meter section assaying 1.19% copper.[1] The mineralization trend extends 5.5 kilometers southeast from Tonic along the Mumbwa fault zone, with the Kitumba copper deposit operated by Sinomine Resources situated approximately 18 kilometers from the Tonic prospect and containing an estimated resource exceeding 100 million tonnes.[1]
