The China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing released data on August 4 showing that China's logistics business index for July stood at 50.4%, a slight decline of 0.2 percentage points from the previous month, while maintaining its position in the expansion zone for the third consecutive month.[1] The new orders index rose to 50.5%, up 0.2 percentage points month-over-month and marking the fifth consecutive monthly increase this year, reflecting steady growth across industrial and consumer logistics segments.[1] However, bulk energy transportation services showed signs of slowdown during the period.[1]
Performance across transportation modes remained generally positive.[1] The business volume indices for railway transport, road transport, postal and express delivery, and multimodal transportation all remained in the expansion zone.[1] In contrast, air freight and express delivery services experienced a pullback from previously elevated demand levels.[1] Liu Yuhang, director of the China Logistics Information Center, noted that "the foundations for stable operation of the logistics industry are being reinforced."[1]
