Dogs Trust has launched a campaign to alert the public about the dangers that open bodies of water across the UK can present to both dogs and their owners.[1] The charity has documented hundreds of incidents in recent years involving open water, some of which have resulted in the deaths of pets or people.[1]
As warmer weather drives more families to spend time near open water areas, the risks often go unrecognized.
