Comedian Jenny Yang has launched a nationwide comedy tour designed to support immigrant communities and their local businesses.[1] The initiative, titled "The Good Egg Immigrant Grocery Store Standup Comedy Tour," features stand-up performances held in ethnic grocery stores across major American cities.[1] Beginning June 5, 2025, in Los Angeles and concluding September 26, 2025, also in Los Angeles, the tour has expanded from an initial five shows to nearly 20 performances.[1] The tour will visit Los Angeles, Minneapolis, Phoenix, New York, and San Francisco, among other locations.[1]
Yang, an immigrant comedian and actor originally from Taiwan who previously worked as a labor organizer, partners with the Asian Law Caucus to select performance venues and identify local nonprofits to benefit from ticket proceeds.[1] Reflecting on her approach to comedy, Yang stated: "People come into this art form as a stand-up comedian for different reasons. I am of the mind that my stand-up comedy is just an extension of my values and I believe in punching up, not down."[1] The tour represents an effort to leverage her comedic platform as a form of activism, particularly in response to immigration policies.[1]
