未来三天内，海南岛西部、广西南部、广东中东部和南部、福建、浙江南部等地部分地区将迎来大到暴雨，局部地区甚至可能出现大暴雨到特大暴雨1。为应对可能的灾情，中国水利部已启动对广东、广西、海南的洪水防御四级应急响应1，应急管理部同时对广西启动国家地质灾害四级应急响应1。
广西地区面临的灾情压力尤为严峻。该地区刚于7月遭台风梅莎重创，造成南宁及贵港两市165万人受灾，159人罹难，10人失踪1。
China's Ministry of Water Resources and China Meteorological Administration jointly issued a red-level flash flood warning on the evening of August 22, marking the highest alert tier and indicating a high likelihood of flash flood disasters.1 The Ministry of Natural Resources and China Meteorological Administration simultaneously released an orange-level geological hazard risk warning, the second-highest alert level.1
Over the next three days, western Hainan Island, southern Guangxi, central and southern Guangdong, Fujian, and southern Zhejiang are expected to experience heavy to torrential rains, with some areas potentially facing extraordinarily heavy downpours.1 In response to the mounting threats, the Ministry of Water Resources activated a Level 4 flood prevention emergency response for Guangdong, Guangxi, and Hainan, while the Ministry of Emergency Management launched a Level 4 national geological disaster emergency response specifically for Guangxi.1
The precautions come as the region continues recovering from Typhoon Mocha, which struck in July and devastated Guangxi's Nanning and Guigang cities, affecting 1.65 million people, killing 159, and leaving 10 missing.1
