Ma initiated preparations for the relief kitchen on July 13, with operations beginning on July 141. At peak capacity, the facility distributed nearly 10,000 meals daily, ultimately delivering over 60,000 boxed meals in total1. Beyond prepared food, the kitchen coordinated the distribution of supplies including 17,680 pounds of rice and noodles, 13,200 pounds of meat, and approximately 60,000 pounds of various vegetables1.
After falling ill on August 12, Ma succumbed to his condition on August 15 despite rescue efforts1. A memorial service held at the Nanning Funeral Home on August 19 drew hundreds of relatives, volunteers, and community members to pay their respects1.
