Olympio Metals has reported robust assay results from the third phase of its drilling campaign at the Bousquet gold project in Quebec, validating the company's geological interpretation of the main vein system.[1] The initial drill hole returned 5 meters grading 4.54 grams per tonne of gold, including a higher-grade interval of 0.75 meters at 24.3 grams per tonne.[1] A second intersection at the same hole yielded 1.85 meters grading 2.17 grams per tonne at a depth of 208.65 meters.[1]
The newly discovered intersections lie approximately 30 meters above a previously identified 6.4-meter zone grading 6.54 grams per tonne, further supporting the potential for a large mineralized system at the property.[1] The third-phase drilling program comprises 1,428 meters across five holes, with 44 holes completed to date.[1] Structural mapping from borehole television surveys on 11 holes has yielded more than 6,000 structural readings.[1] Managing Director Sean Delaney stated: "Our success rate across the 44 holes drilled to date continues to give us confidence that this is a large-scale mineralization system."[1]
Olympio currently holds a 51 percent interest in Bousquet, with the option to increase this to 80 percent within five years through staged option payments, share issuance, and exploration expenditures.[1] The project is located on Quebec's renowned Cadillac Break, approximately 15 kilometers from Agnico Eagle's La Ronde mine, which contains 15.8 million ounces of gold.[1]
