Peninsula Energy has appointed Gary Birch, a seasoned uranium mining executive, as Chief Technology Officer, effective September 28, to accelerate production growth at its Lance uranium project in Wyoming. [1] Birch brings more than two decades of experience in the uranium sector, having previously served as Chief Operating Officer at Heathgate Resources. [1] Chief Executive George Bauk stated that Birch is "one of Australia's most experienced low-pH in-situ leach uranium mining operators." [1]
The company has simultaneously established a new Technology Committee chaired by non-executive director Keith Bowes to support the project's operational advancement. [1] To further strengthen its capabilities, Peninsula Energy has also engaged Rendement, a South Australian professional consulting firm, to provide technical assistance aimed at improving wellfield and processing performance. [1] The Lance project currently holds a resource base of 58 million pounds of uranium and operates a processing facility with annual production capacity of 2 million pounds of uranium oxide. [1]
Peninsula Energy has withdrawn its previous uranium oxide production guidance for 2026 and issued a revised range of 150,000 to 290,000 pounds for that year. [1] The company's 2027 production target remains unchanged at 500,000 to 600,000 pounds of uranium oxide. [1]
