Gateway Mining has initiated a large-scale regional soil sampling program at its Glenburgh South project in Western Australia's Gascoyne region, near the Glenburgh gold mine operated by Benz Mining.[1] The exploration campaign will involve collecting more than 2,400 soil samples across two major structural zones—the Errabiddy and Northern Shear—spanning approximately 50 kilometers in total length.[1] Sampling is expected to be completed within four weeks, with analytical results anticipated in the latter part of the current quarter.[1]
The adjacent Benz Mining operation provides a reference point for exploration potential. Benz Mining's Glenburgh gold mine has an exploration target estimated at 10 to 12 million ounces grading 0.6 to 0.7 grams per tonne, and the company's market capitalization has grown to over $1 billion in the past year.[1] According to Gateway Mining Chief Executive Richard Pugh, "We believe the Glenburgh South project has the potential to be an important new gold camp."[1]
Gateway Mining remains active across its portfolio, having completed 52,000 meters of drilling during the June quarter, with the discovery corridor at its Cowza gold mine now extended to 3.5 kilometers in strike length.[1] The company's cash and liquid securities position stood at $15.1 million as of the end of the June quarter.[1]
