A dedicated frontier protector has shared her remarkable 55-year journey defending the China-Mongolia border.[1] At age 25 in 1971, she answered the national call to serve at a militia outpost near the border in Tamushubulage Sume, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, where she and her family have maintained their post in harsh desert conditions.[1] The border section under their watch stretches over 40 kilometers, requiring 10 hours to complete a single patrol circuit.[1]
Over the decades, her family's cumulative patrol distance has exceeded 800,000 kilometers—equivalent to circling Earth's equator 20 times.[1] She submitted her application to join the Communist Party in 1975 and became a party member.[1] Today, despite health challenges that have made movement difficult, she continues this vital work alongside her son and grandson.[1] In 2023, her grandson Baoquan returned to the border after graduating from university, voluntarily choosing to work as an auxiliary police officer at the frontier police station, creating a three-generation lineage of border defenders.[1] As a nationally recognized outstanding Communist Party member from a herding family in Alxa Right Banner, she embodies the steadfast dedication that frontier protectors bring to safeguarding border stability.[1]
