One Nation has announced eight Upper House candidates for the upcoming Victorian state election, signaling the party's continued expansion in the state.[1] The slate includes Warren Pickering, who will lead the party's campaign for an Upper House seat, and former Liberal Party member Colleen Harkin.[1] Harkin departed the Liberal Party after pursuing a High Court action against John Pesutto over a loan valued at A$1.55 million, and has now joined One Nation's ranks.[1]
Among the candidates is Mark Nicholson, co-founder of animation studio Stepmates Studios, who has created a cartoon web series titled "Please Explain" featuring Pauline Hanson.[1] Incumbent One Nation Upper House member Rikki-Lee Tyrell is contesting re-election for the Northern Victoria seat.[1] The party has also undertaken leadership changes, promoting its long-serving chief of staff to national director, with Chris Taylor assuming the position of chief policy officer.[1]
